NIKE’s global supply chain is evolving with new models to meet the needs of the consumer across all geographies. We are looking for an experienced commercial attorney to join our growing Global Supply Chain Logistics and Operations Legal team as Associate General Counsel supporting our global supply chain and business as it develops critical initiatives to unlock more flexible distribution and delivery capabilities.


As Associate General for Global Supply Chain Logistics and Operations, you will be part of a growing team and play an integral role providing legal support for third party logistics, warehousing, fulfillment, and supply chain operations for NIKE. You will:

  • Manage a high-volume deal portfolio
  • Collaborate with global teams to build and develop templates and playbooks
  • Draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements and documents for global logistics and procurement teams, supporting distribution centers, transportation modes, services, and equipment and technology
  • Analyze and provide strategy advice on new business objectives
  • Provide legal advice on NIKE’s engagement with 3PL providers
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in legal, procurement, logistics, business, finance, tax, trade, technology, and operations teams to identify risks and help implement effective business solutions for distribution globally
  • Be a trusted advisor for logistics and operations leaders
  • Identify risks and implement effective mitigation strategies for price changes, supply chain disruption, geo-political and regulatory changes
  • Collaborate with government affairs teammates to monitor and assess practical implications to NIKE business
  • Manage outside legal counsel to ensure high-value, efficient and cost-effective representation.
  • Support other departments as needed


  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. institution
  • Member, in good standing, of at least one U.S. State Bar and eligible for membership in the Oregon State Bar
  • 4+years’ experience providing commercial legal guidance for multinational corporations
  • Expertise in drafting, redlining, and negotiating commercial contracts as well as building templates and playbooks
  • Recognition of regulatory compliance issues and the ability to educate and advise on mitigations for such issues
  • Strong business acumen and curiosity
  • Ability to manage issues by finding solutions and effectively communicating with partners
  • Ability to navigate a fast paced highly matrixed multinational organization
  • Experience with high volume deal management and creating efficiencies to accelerate deal velocity
  • Experience with corporate procurement and transportation or warehouse contracting a plus.
  • Some familiarity with contracts for technology as a service
  • Familiarity with logistics, customer delivery solutions, transportation, distribution, facilities, and general procurement transactions, as well as privacy, information technology and intellectual property related to such transactions
  • Law firm or in-house experience in several of the following specialty areas is preferred: general commercial contracts, supply chain, transportation and logistics, facilities operations and support services, customs
  • Strong bias for action and critical thinking
  • Excellent collaboration skills and an ability to communicate effectively and succinctly, both verbally and in writing, with business partners and vendors at all levels across the globe
  • Willingness to relocate to the Portland, Oregon area
